TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 31-year-old man who ran a prostitution ring featuring underage school girls, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Jan. 12).
Over a three-month period starting in March of last year, Kentaro Tanioka is believed to have introduced five prostitutes, aged 16 and 17, to customers in which sales totaled 22.5 million yen.
In once case that took place on June 4, Tanioka allegedly dispatched a 17-year-old girl from Hachioji City to a hotel near JR Shibuya Station.
Tanioka, who has been charged with violating the anti-prostitution and child welfare laws, admits to the allegations.
Tanioka recruited male customers through deai-kei matchmaking sites in which he inquired about interest in enjo kosai, or compensated dating.
