TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of a former sex worker for defrauding a male customer in order to spend lavishly on her own entertainment, reports TBS News (Aug. 12).
On nine occasions between December of 2011 and February of the next year, Mikie Miura, a 29-year-old resident of Nerima Ward who was formerly employed in the out-call “delivery health” trade, is alleged to have received a total of 15.6 million yen from a male customer after telling him that her father was in financial trouble and she wanted to assist him.
Miura, who has been charged with fraud, admits to the allegations. “If I talk about family problems I’ll receive sympathy and money,” the suspect is quoted by police. “That’s why I did it.”
Miura used the funds at host clubs, spending up to two million yen in one evening.
After making the final payment, the victim, a male in his 40s living in Suginami Ward, was unable to make contact with the suspect. In November of 2013, he consulted with police, according to the Sankei Shimbun (Aug. 12).
