TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 27-year-old woman on suspicion of selling a Rolex watch stolen from a pawnshop in Shinjuku Ward earlier this year.
In April, Chisato Iwakiri allegedly sold a Rolex watch stolen in a robbery at a pawn shop in Kabukicho to another pawnshop for 900,000 yen, reports Fuji News Network (Sep. 10).
Iwakiri is believed to have applied for an illegal part-time job. When questioned, she denied the charges, saying, “I didn’t know it was stolen goods.”
Police have already arrested three 19-year-old men and others on suspicion of recruiting the boy who carried out the robbery. Police are investigating the possibility that the bosozoku motorcycle gang 88 Family, based in Yashio City, Saitama Prefecture, was involved.
