Video: Theft of Lexus caught on film

SHIGA (TR) – Thieves stole a Lexus worth over 17 million yen from a home in the town of Hino — the theft of which was captured in security camera footage, reports TV Asahi (Dec. 21).

In the footage, two people are seen loitering around the Lexus LX while it was parked in a garage a little after midnight on Friday. After a while, the car’s engine starts and they drove off.

The owner, a 57-year-old man who lives in the house, noticed the car, worth approximately 17.5 million yen, was missing in the morning and called police.

According to police, the car was locked, and there was another theft-prevention device attached to the steering wheel.

Based on security camera footage and other factors, police believe that at least two people are involved and are investigating the case as a theft.
