CHIBA (TR) – Thieves targeted change machines at a coin-operated laundromat in Minamiboso this week, causing more than 3 million yen in losses.
Security cameras captured the entire crime as it was carried by two men dressed in black on May 13, reports TV Asahi (May 15).
In the footage, one man enters the outlet through the front door and thrusts something like a crowbar into one of the two change machines.
A second man then appears. About four minutes later, they flee with the contents of both machines in their possession.
Just before 8 a.m. the next day, an employee contacted the police to report that the coin machines in the store had been broken into.
According to police and the victim, the two coin machines, used for converting bills to coins, were broken into with something like a crowbar. The damage is estimated at 3 million yen for the coin machines themselves and the cash that was inside them.
Police are using the security camera footage to located the two thieves.
