TOKYO (TR) – A 38-year-old transgender man whose body was found with his facial skin removed last month in Fussa City died of poisoning, investigative sources have revealed, reports the TBS News (Dec. 11).
The results of a pathology investigation on the body of Yoshi Tsuchida, which was discovered wrapped in a blanket in one room of the apartment, located in the Musashinodai area, revealed the cause of death to be medicinal poisoning following the intake of large quantities of the drug Etizolam, which is often used as a sleeping pill.
Tsuchida’s 28-year-old boyfriend, who also lives in the residence, found the body at approximately 5:30 p.m. on November 12. A plastic bag had been placed over his face, whose skin had been sliced off. His nose had also been shaved down. The body did not exhibit any other external injuries.
The boyfriend, who claims to also be the adopted son of Yoshida, is currently receiving female hormone injections. Tsuchida had previously undertaken a sex-change operation.
The man said that both he and Yoshida went to sleep in separate rooms after returning home at approximately 5:30 a.m. that same day. When he awoke, he made the grisly discovery.
During the investigation, the boyfriend told police that Tsuchida told him that he ingested Etizolam in large quantities in order to sleep.
The ongoing investigation is also seeking to determine the cause of the mutilation of Tsuchida’s body.
