Three nabbed in connection with corpse found at Osaka port

OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police on Sunday arrested three men in connection with the body of another man found with his legs bound at a port in Kaizuka City last month, reports NHK (Dec. 1).

Police accused Tomoki Nakamura, 26, and the other two men of confinement and other charges.

Police did not reveal whether the suspects admit to the allegations.

On the night of November 9, a fisherman found the body of Ryuto Miyagi, a 26-year-old part-time worker in Nishi Ward, Osaka City, caught on a concrete tetrapod.

Miyagi’s ankles were tied and his mouth taped over. The cause of death is believed to have been shock due to being tied up too tightly.

Miyagi went missing after leaving a restaurant in Chuo Ward, Osaka after finishing his part-time job on October 26. Security camera footage and other sources suggest that the three men kidnapped the victim in a car in Osaka City that afternoon and imprisoned him.

According to the police, Nakamura and the victim were acquainted with each other.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the incident, including the possibility that he was murdered.
