TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested two men for breaking into a store dealing in precious metals in Taito Ward and stealing cash valuables earlier this year, reports NHK (May 16).
At around 9:00 p.m. on January 11, Takahiro Suzuki and Shota Tanaka are suspected of working together to break into the precious metals store and steal 8 million yen in cash and card keys that were inside a locked safe.
Suzuki is believed to have been the main perpetrator. Beforehand, he asked Tanaka, who previously worked at the store, where the safe was located and how to deactivate the security system before carrying out the crime.

When questioned, the two admitted to the charges. Suzuki stated, “I had no money from gambling and other things, so I did it to pay off my debts.”
Meanwhile, Tanaka said, “I gave him the information if he would give me a share, but I never thought he would actually do it.”
