TOKYO (TR) – According to police, a 19-year-old male student in custody for groping a girl in Ota Ward this past June said he committed the act after experiencing stress. However, he failed to explain why he was not wearing any clothing at the time.
At around 11:30 p.m. on June 5, the unnamed suspect, who while completely naked, allegedly hugged the teenage victim from behind as she walked along a street in the Shimomaruko area, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Aug. 19).
On Monday, Tokyo Metropolitan Police arrested the male vocational school student, a resident of Yokohama City, on suspicion of indecent assault without consent. The suspect admitted to the allegations, saying, “I did it to relieve stress.”
After the crime, the nude suspect fled the scene on a scooter that was parked nearby. The woman later contacted a family member, who alerted police. The suspect became a person of interest in the case after an examination of security camera footage.
