TOKYO (TR) – A male staff member for public broadcaster NHK employee for allegedly trespassing into a women’s changing room at a taxi company in Shinagawa Ward, police have revealed.
At around 12:30 a.m. on Sunday, an employee of a taxi company in Shinagawa Ward, called police to report an “intruder,” reports Nippon News Network (Oct. 6).
Officers arriving at the scene arrested NHK employee Takumi Suetomi, 29, on the premises. According to police, he was drunk at the time.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of trespassing, Suetomi admitted to sleeping in the changing room, but partially denied the charges, saying, “I don’t understand why I was arrested.”
Prior to the discovery, a female employee decided to check inside the changing room. After opening the door, she found Suetomi asleep on the floor.
When the employee woke him up, he ran away. It was then that a male employee called police.
Tokyo police are investigating the circumstances that led to the incident.
The public relations department at NHK said on Sunday afternoon, “After confirming the facts, we will take strict action.”
