MIE (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police have arrested a 40-year-old man for allegedly assaulting and injuring his girlfriend after she served him a meal that he claimed was poor in quality, reports Nagoya TV (Oct. 9).
At around 8:00 p.m. on October 7, the unnamed man, who is an electrician, allegedly threw a lighting remote control at her inside the residence they share in Tsu City. He is also alleged to have punched and kicked her.
According to Tsu Minami Police Station, the woman suffered numerous injuries, including a bruised left elbow, a sprained neck, a bruised head, a possibly broken rib on her right side, a bruised left shoulder and bruised hands.
Her condition is not considered life-threatening, police said.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of inflicting injury, the man declined to comment on the allegations.
The incident emerged the next day after the woman visited the police station. In an interview with her, she said that the man suddenly became angry after she served him a bento boxed meal. He claimed that it was “mazui (bad)” and then proceeded to assault her.
