Man sought for questioning over deaths of parents surrenders to police

KANAGAWA (TR) – A man sought for questioning after the discovery of the corpses of his elderly parents in their residence in Yokosuka City last week has surrendered to police.

On Sunday, the man, aged in his 40s, appeared at a police station in Wakayama Prefecture, reports Kyodo News (April 9).

On the evening of April 7, a relative of Mitsuo Onoboshi, 75, and his wife, 72-year-old Yasuko, alerted police after not being able to contact them for an extended period.

Officers arriving at the scene entered the residence by breaking a glass window and found the couple’s bodies of inside separate futons in the first-floor living room.

The couple shared the residence with the son. At the time of the discovery, his whereabouts were not known. Police in Wakayama plan to send the man to Kanagawa to face questioning over the case.
