TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 61-year-old man over the alleged abduction and rape of a woman after he found her sleeping on a street in Nakano Ward last year, reports Fuji News Network (Mar. 14).
At around 4:00 a.m. on November 20, Atsushi Noguchi allegedly abducted the woman, aged in her 20s, from a street into his car and sexually assaulting her.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of non-consensual sexual intercourse and kidnapping for obscene purposes, Noguchi reportedly stated, “I had obtained her consent. So, it is impossible that I forced myself [upon her] to commit indecent acts.”

Noguchi, who lives in Nakano was not acquainted with the woman before the incident. At the time, the woman, a part-time worker, was sleeping on the street after drinking.
Initially, he her into his car under the pretense of caring for her. He then drove to a paid parking lot in Shinjuku Ward and carried out the crime over a 30-minute period.
When the woman got out of the car to go home, Noguchi chased her. The woman called her boss at her place of employment. The boss then called police.
