TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a male Filipino national for soliciting prostitution in the Kabukicho red-light district of Shinjuku Ward, reports Nippon News Network (Nov. 20).
At the night of November 20, the suspect, 29, who was dressed as a woman, allegedly sought customers for sex on a road in the district.
“15,000 yen,” he reportedly offered passersby.
The suspect, who was apprehended by an officer on patrol, denied the allegations upon his arrest. “I talked to a man but it wasn’t about paying money for sex,” the suspect was quoted by police.
According to police, the Kabukicho area has seen an increase in foreign men seeking male prostitutes.
