KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested a 58-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his sister at the residence they share in Yokohama City on Tuesday.
At just after 6:00 a.m., Katsuaki Aoki telephoned police from the residence in Tsurumi Ward. “I killed her. I stabbed my sister, but she’s still breathing,” he said.
When emergency personnel rushed to the scene, they found Aoki’s sister, 63, collapsed and bleeding in front of the entrance to the house.
She was later taken to hospital with serious injuries, including cuts to her left cheek and neck, police said.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of attempted murder, Aoki admitted to the charges. “I’ve had problems with my sister for some time, so I stabbed her,” he said.

Prior to the incident, Aoki and his sister got into a money-related dispute. The circumstances that led the incident are under investigation.
