Kanagawa doctor accused of threatening train passenger with ice pick: ‘If you cough any more, I’ll kill you’

KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested arrested a 59-year-old male doctor from Yokosuka City for pointing an ice pick at a passenger on a train who wouldn’t stop coughing, reports Fuji News Network (Jan. 18).

At around 4:10 p.m. on January 18, Masahisa Onomura allegedly pointed the ice pick at the male passenger inside a carriage of a Keikyu Line limited express train traveling between Kamiooka and Yokohama stations. “If you cough any more, I’ll kill you,” he reportedly said.

There were no injuries in the incident, the Tobe Police Station said.

Upon his arrest on suspicion of violating the Act on the Punishment of Violence and Other Crimes, Onomura denied the allegations. “I didn’t do anything like that,” he said.
