Kanagawa cops nab man over Fujisawa convenience store robbery

KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested a 40-year-old man over the robbery of a convenience store in Fujisawa City earlier this month, reports TBS News (Oct. 12).

On October 2, Jun Tomita allegedly used a knife to slash a 79-year-old employee of the store, located in the Miyamae area, in the left hand. The suspect then fled with 110,000 yen in cash taken from a register.

The clerk suffered light injuries in the incident, police said.

Tomita, who has been accused of robbery resulting in injury, partially denies the allegations, telling police he carried out the robbery but did not injure the clerk.
