KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police have arrested a 54-year-old staff member at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries over the alleged assault of an employee at a bar in Yokohama on Sunday, reports TBS News (Oct. 8).
At around 11 p.m., Mitsuhiro Minami, 54, allegedly beat the face of the male employee at the bar, located in Kanazawa Ward, causing cuts to his lips, according to police.
Minami, who has been accused of assault, denies the allegations. “Since I was drunk, I don’t remember,” the suspect was quoted by police. “But I didn’t do it.”
The suspect was the only customer inside the bar at the time. Prior to the incident, the suspect and victim got into a dispute over the bills.
Minami was identified by police as a staff member of the ministry based on identification in his possession and his answers to questions.
