TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a 37-year-old man who while out jogging for allegedly performing indecent acts on a woman in her 20s in Tokyo’s Adachi Ward, reports Nippon News Network (Dec. 29).
At around 8:00 p.m. on November 22, Yohei Kashiwa is suspected of groping the woman at a bus stop as he jogged by.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of indecent assault, Kashiwa admitted to the allegations. “I couldn’t control my desire so I did it,” he said.
According to police, the suspect and the victim are acquainted. At the time of the incident, Kashiwa spotted her waiting for the bus and came up to her from behind. He then suddenly groped her breasts.
The woman resisted and tried to shake him off, but Kashiwa continued to touch her.
Several other women have reported similar crimes to police. The investigation is ongoing, includeing whether Kashiwa was behind those other cases.
