CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested an Iranian company executive who manages a car demolition facility in Chiba City for allegedly storing vehicles while knowing that they were stolen, reports NHK (Nov. 7).
On Wednesday, police searched a facility managed by Ali Amani, a 59-year-old Iranian company executive, and found a stolen car in the bed of a truck parked in the parking lot.
When questioned, Amani, who lives in Wakaba Ward, denied the charges. “I didn’t know there were stolen cars there,” he said.
In a separate case, a stolen car was found in Chiba City inside a container that was scheduled to be exported overseas. After that, police launched an investigation.
Also on Wednesday, several other stolen cars were found at the facility, and police are continuing the investigation.
