IBARAKI (TR) – Ibaraki Prefectural Police have arrested a 50-year-old woman and her daughter after a man’s body was found inside a vehicle in front of their apartment in Mito City on Thursday, reports TBS News (Mar. 14).
At around 1:20 p.m., a court official entered the apartment of Yuki Aibara, of no known occupation, and her daughter, 30-year-old Risa, and found a stain on a futon.
“There might have been a crime,” the official said in notifying law enforcement.
When the police officers arrived and checked the parked outsdie, they found the man’s body wrapped in the futon.
Police did not reveal whether the suspects admit to the allegations.
The court official visited the residence due to unpaid rent.
Based on the condition of the body, the person had been dead for an extended period, police said.
Witnesses told police that the suspects were seen carrying something to the car at around noon on the same day.
Aibara’s son, aged in his 20s, also lives in the apartment. However, his whereabouts are not known.
Police are currently working to identify the body.
