Flashback: Man used jogging as recon in theft of women’s underwear

SAITAMA (TR) – It was 10 years ago on Sunday that Saitama Prefectural Police announced the arrest of an alleged women’s underwear thief who went jogging in scoping prospective targets, reports Fuji News Network (Dec. 3) in a flashback.

On November 15, 2007, Mitsuo Tadakuma, then 37, allegedly snatched six pairs of underwear hanging out to dry at the residence of an 18-year-old female college student in Toda City.

“I wanted to make a collection,” the suspect was quoted by the Warabi Police Station in admitting to the allegations. “While jogging around my residence over the last two years, I took note of [hanging] underwear that caught my eye.”
