TOTTORI (TR) – A former Self-Defense Force staff member is on trial for non-consensual intercourse with a 12-year-old girl and the taking nude photos of her.
According to the indictment, the unnamed man, 23, is accused of having non-consensual intercourse with the girl on several occasions at hotels in Tottori Prefecture between October 2023 and January 2024 while knowing that she was underage.
He is also alleged to have photographed the exposed genitals and breasts of girl with his smartphone at a hotel with his smartphone on October 29, reports TBS News (Nov. 9).
Last week, the man appeared in court with a shaved head and wearing a suit. During the session, he admitted to the charges in a clear voice. “There’s no mistake,” he said.
During questioning by the defense attorney, the defendant claimed that he thought the girl was about the same age as himself.
“If both parties agreed to the act, I didn’t think it was wrong. Since the other person also agreed, I didn’t think it was wrong,” he told the court.
The first hearing was held in September. After that, the man was dismissed by the SDF.
