TOKYO (TR) – On Thursday, Tokyo Customs announced that it had filed a complaint with prosecutors over a 32-year-old former model who is accused of attempting to smuggle liquefied stimulants into Japan from the United Kingdom five years ago, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Oct. 17).
According to police, Hideaki Koyama, 32, conspired with an accomplice to smuggle approximately 1.8 kg of liquified kakuseizai (methamphetamine) from the United Kingdom to a male and female acquaintance in Shinjuku Ward via international mail.
The contraband, which was discovered concealed inside 12 lotion bottles by a Tokyo Customs official on December 25, 2019, has a street value of approximately 120 million yen.

Police did not reveal whether he admits to violating the Stimulants Control Act.
Koyama worked as a model under the name “Jake.” In January 2020, Australian police arrested him for attempting to smuggle methamphetamine and other drugs into Australia. He was later sentenced to prison.
In September of this year, upon his return to Japan, he was arrested by Tokyo Metropolitan Police on suspicion of smuggling.
