CHIBA (TR) – Following a series of robberies in the Tokyo metropolitan area, Chiba Prefectural Police on Sunday issued a public arrest warrant for a man believed to be a perpetrator in a case in Ichikawa City earlier this month.
According to police, Rikuto Kubota, 21, is believed to have been one of the perpetrators in the break-in and robbery of the residence of a 72-year-old woman on October 17.
The perpetrators are suspected of stealing the woman’s wallet and car after smashing a window to gain entrance. They also kidnapped the woman’s 50-year-old daughter, who was sleeping at the time of the break-in.
Kubota is wanted on suspicion of robbery and assault. Chiba Prefectural Police have released seven images of Kubota and have designated the case eligible for a special investigation reward of up to 3 million yen.
On the same day of the crime, police that same day rescued her at a hotel in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture. She had suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
The National Police Agency will post the images and other information on their websites from today, and Chiba Prefectural Police will do so from tomorrow.
