HYOGO (TR) – The operator of MK Taxi in the Kansai area said on Friday that a female call center employee who threatened a customer called in via text message has resigned from her post.
According to the MK Nishinippon Group, a customer living in Fukuoka Prefecture in February contacted the MK Taxi call center to inquire about using a welfare taxi, which provides special services for the disabled.
Immediately after the call, the female employee, aged in her 20s, who answered the phone sent a short message to the customer’s mobile phone. “Don’t get cocky just because you are disabled,” the message read. “If you come, I’ll kill you.”
The problem came to light after the customer reported the exchange to the company.
The female employee initially denied having sent the message. However, after being contacted by the police, she admitted to the allegations and voluntarily resigned.
MK Nishinippon Group also issued an apology on Friday. “We will thoroughly re-educate our employees about the importance of respecting human rights,” the statement said.
