HOKKAIDO (TR) – To be filed under: Where’s the beef?
Hokkaido Prefectural Police earlier this month arrested a drunk 38-year-old man after he allegedly punched a restaurant clerk and a customer in Iwamizawa City, reports HTB News (Dec. 4).
On December 3, Keigo Nakamura, of no known occupation, allegedly punched the manager of the gyudon beef bowl restaurant and a male customer.
Upon his arrest on suspicion of assault, Nakamura, a resident of Iwamizawa, said, “You’ll find out if you ask the other persons [involved].”
According to police, the incident took place after Nakamura finished his meal was paying via self-checkout. However, he had not pressed the button to signify that he had completed his meal.
When the female store manager called out to him, he became enraged. After he allegedly punched her, he destroyed the cash register with a spray can.
Then, as Nakamura was leaving the restaurant, he also allegedly assaulted the male customer who was standing near the entrance.
“I was waiting in the store’s foyer when this man suddenly came out and started punching me. I’m really angry. I had nothing to do with this,” the man said.
At some point, someone rang an emergency bell inside the restaurant.
The man who was punched went on, “I dodged [the blow] a little, and he punched me here [on my ear]. At that moment, I grabbed his right hand and held him down until the police arrived.”
The manager and the male customer both suffered minor injuries.
According to police, Nakamura was intoxicated at the time of the incident.
