Tokyo cops: Man extorted ¥70,000 from Kishidan store in Shibuya

TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police are searching for a man who allegedly extorted money from a store featuring products for popular rock band Kishidan in Shibuya Ward on Thursday, reports TV Asahi (Apr. 27).

At around noon, the man claimed to be an organized crime member while inquiring with a female clerk, 34, at Ikopiri Store Tokyo, located in the Udagawacho area, how much cash was on hand at the store. He then took 70,000 yen in cash and fled the scene.

The clerk subsequently reported the incident to police.

Believed to be in his 30s or 40s, the man stands approximately 170 centimeters in height. His whereabouts are sought by police on suspicion of extortion.
