Gunma cops: Man pulls knife in robbing convenience store

GUNMA (TR) – Gunma Prefectural Police are hunting for a male suspect who stole some 100,000 yen from a convenience store in Tomioka City, reports TBS News (Mar. 25).

At around 1 a.m., the man barged into an outlet of Saveon, located in the Uda area, and threatened a male clerk, 24, with a knife. He said, “This is an armed robbery, open the cash register.”

The suspect snatched 100,000 yen from the register and fled, police said. The clerk was uninjured.

Police are searching for the suspect, believed to be aged in his 40s or 50s. Standing at around 170 centimeters, he was last seen wearing a white top and gray pants.
