HYOGO (TR) – A female shoplifter bit a security guard’s arm and fled after abandoning the stolen goods on a parking lot at a mall in Himeji City, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Mar. 9).

Hyogo Prefectural Police are hunting for the woman in her 50s or 60s who bit the 63-year-old guard’s left arm after stealing beer, rice and 14 other grocery items worth around 17,000 yen from Aeon Mall Himeji Otsu at around 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

The security guard was bitten when he tried to remove the woman from her vehicle after she climbed in, claiming she paid for the stolen goods.

The woman was last seen wearing jeans with a black jumper and fled in a white car, said police investigating the case as robbery resulting in injury.
