TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested a student at Waseda University for allegedly molesting a woman inside her residence in Kita Ward, reports TV Asahi (Feb. 28).

On February 6, Kazufumi Akama, a 21-year-old resident of Itabashi Ward, allegedly trespassed into the apartment of the victim, a student at a women’s college, grabbed her from behind and put his hand over her mouth. He then fondled the lower half of her body.

The woman suffered an injury to her right knee that required 10 days to heal.

Akama, who has been charged with indecent assault resulting in injury, admits to the allegations. “I wanted to see a women I don’t like to be troubled,” the suspect is quoted. “I can attain a thrilling sensation.”

According to police, Akama, a third-year student, targeted the victim on a street and followed her to the residence prior to committing the crime.

A representative of the university said that if an arrest indeed took place it was “regrettable.” “Once the facts can be confirmed, we will deal [with the matter] strictly,” the representative said.

Akama is under investigation for similar crimes committed in the same area.
