CHIBA (TR) – Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested three Thai nationals in the killing of a Vietnamese man in Choshi City last month, reports TV Asahi (Mar. 2).

Police have accused the three suspects in the stabbing death of Nguyen Dinh Lien, 21, whose body was found covered in blood on a street in the Shimizu area at around 1 a.m. on December 25.

According to police, groups of Vietnamese and Thai nationals engaged in a dispute at a restaurant prior to the incident. Nguyen arrived at the scene to lend assistance but he was stabbed in the back, allegedly by one of the three suspects.

Police are now investigating what led to the dispute between the two groups.
