SHIZUOKA (TR) – Christmas comes early this year for the fish at Shimoda Marine Aquarium, which is hosting feeding shows with divers dressed up as Santa.

Held on the ship-turned aquarium Aqua Dome Perry featuring a 600-cubic-meter tank home to some 50 species totaling over 4,000 creatures, the event is part of the aquarium’s bid to have visitors celebrate Christmas early, TBS News reports (Dec. 11).

Visitors can catch Santa Claus feeding the likes of sharks and sardines three times a day until December 25.

The aquarium was the first in Japan to successfully breed in captivity Japanese bullhead sharks, carpet sharks known as wobbegongs, blotchy swellsharks, Izu catsharks, and banded houndsharks, according to its official web site.
