OSAKA (TR) – A drunk man threatened residents of his apartment with a knife and stole money from them, claiming to be the “apartment god,” police said on Tuesday.

Kento Yasuda, 20, was arrested on suspicion of violating the Firearms and Swords Control Law for allegedly threatening and robbing residents in his apartment in Osaka City at around 1 p.m., TV Asahi reports (Dec. 6).

Yasuda, who works as a host, told police he was drunk and “having money problems.” Hosts refer to typically young and handsome men employed at nightclubs and bars to entertain female patrons.

Yasuda allegedly barged into the apartments of residents and threatened them with a knife, claiming he was the “apartment god” before stealing their money and fleeing the scene, police said.

Officers responding to three emergency calls all reporting the same modus operandi arrived to find a suspicious knife-wielding man inside the apartment and arrested him on the spot, police said.
