Shiga cops: 2 bodies found in burned home

Two bodies were found after a home burned down overnight in Shiga Prefecture (TV Asahi)

SHIGA (TR) – Two bodies were found among the remains of a home here that burned down, TV Asahi reported on Saturday (Nov. 5).

Firefighters received a call saying “flames were shooting up from a nearby home” in Nagahama City, Shiga Prefecture, at around 8: 30 p.m. on Friday.

Firefighters took two hours to extinguish the blaze, which completely burned down the 270-square-meter property where two bodies were found.

The bodies are thought to be that of Fumiko Fujita, 82, and her daughter Harumi, 57, who were on the property at the time of the fire, authorities said.
