SAGA (TR) – A hot air balloon became caught on a railway track bridge in Saga City on Saturday during a city-wide hot air balloon race, bringing trains to a temporary halt.

A hot air balloon competing in a race as part of the Saga International Balloon Festa event became snagged on one of the overhead lines on the bridge and partially destroyed railway equipment, TV Asahi reports (October 29).

No injuries were reported, JR Kyushu said.

Trains on the JR Nagasaki Line were suspended for over two hours with delays still being reported.

The race kicked off on Saturday morning as part of the balloon event which began on Friday.
