OSAKA (TR) – Police arrested a man who head-butted a cabbie and fled on Tuesday after becoming enraged when he saw the taxi meter rise by 80 yen as he was about to pay.

Dash cam footage released by police shows the man in his 30s, who was clearly drunk, preparing to pay his taxi fare in Chuo Ward, Osaka, at around 1 a.m. when the fare ticked up by 80 yen to 980 yen, enraging him into head-butting the driver before he fled without paying, Mainichi Broadcasting System reports (September 28).

The suspect can be heard in the footage telling the cab driver with a Kansai dialect, “Hey, you added 80 yen didn’t you?”

“Well, the meter goes up when the taxi moves,” the driver is heard responding, also in a Kansai dialect.

“You added it on didn’t you? ‘Ey, see, you did add it on,” the suspect said.

The man is thought to be about 175 centimeters tall and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and green pants with his breath reeking of alcohol, police said.

Police are currently searching for the man on suspicion of robbery.
