Tokyo cops seek man over molestation of woman in elevator

TOKYO (TR) – Following the molestation of a woman in Ota Ward in June, Tokyo Metropolitan Police are seeking the help of the public in locating the suspect wanted in the crime, reports TV Asahi (Aug. 31).

On Tuesday, police released a video clip from a surveillance camera showing the man who grabbed the woman, 23, from behind and fondled the upper half of her body inside an elevator as she returned home on July 3 at 12:30 a.m.

The man, believed to be in his 30s, is described as having a heavy-set build and dark hair. In the video, he is wearing a dark suit.

Just prior to the incident, the man followed the victim into her apartment building and entered the elevator with her.

Police are seeking the man on suspicion of indecent assault.
