TOKYO (TR) – A man was arrested on Tuesday for having sex with a 16-year-old girl several times, only paying a small fraction of the amount he promised to pay her.
Tokyo Metropolitan Police arrested Takanori Kamon, 50, an IT worker of Kitakoiwa, Edogawa Ward, on child prostitution charges for having sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old girl in a hotel in Kabukicho on March 23, the Mainichi Shimbun reports (July 12).
Kamon admitted to the charges, telling police he “likes young girls.”
Kamon met the teenage girl through Twitter, responding to her tweet asking if there was “anyone who can meet from 3 (p.m.).”
Nippon News Network reported that the tweet was spotted by an officer monitoring the web for minors engaged in illicit activity, who went to meet with her and give guidance. It was at this time that Kamon’s illegal activity emerged.
Police said the suspect promised he would pay the girl between 30,000 and 40,000 yen before having sex with her. He then told her he would pay her later, but only paid about 10 percent of what he owed and had sex with her several more times.
A badminton club in Edogawa Ward lists a post by a user with the same name, introducing himself as a native of Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture. The training grounds are used by middle school students.
