AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for allegedly dumping the body of a woman in a field in Toyota City, reports TBS News (May 9).

On Sunday, police arrested Daiki Yorozui for abandoning the body of Aya Kotanigawa, a 22-year-old resident of Toyota, at the edge of some shrubbery in the field, located in the Jumokucho area, in early February.

Kotanigawa’s body was discovered by the wife of the owner of the field on April 26. She was wrapped in a white sheet.

In November, Kotanigawa registered with a temporary staffing agency in Aichi Prefecture that employed Yorozui. The following month, Kotanigawa went missing from the company.

Family members of Kotanigawa consulted with police after seeing a news report about the discovery of the body in April.

On Saturday, Yorozui, who lives near the field where the body was found, was accompanied by his former boss as he turned himself in to officers at the Nakamura Police Station, according to the Yomiuri Shimbun (May 9). He had just spent the Golden Week holidays with his family in Nagano Prefecture.

Police are now investigating whether Yorozui played a role in the death of Kotanigawa.
