Osaka cops: University employee stabbed to death by ex-wife

OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police have arrested a 64-year-old woman in the stabbing death of her former husband inside the residence they share in Daito City, reports Nikkan Sports (May 1).

At approximately 2:35 a.m., Masahiro Kitayama, a 64-year-old clerk at Kwansei Gakuin University, was found lying face-up with several stab wounds to his abdomen on the second floor of the residence, located in the Hojo area.

Officers from the Shijonawate Police Station arriving at the scene arrested Kitayama’s wife, Yasuko, on charges of attempted murder. A knife (with a blade measuring 27 centimeters in length) was found on the premises.

Kitayama was transported to a nearby hospital where he died.

The body was found by the suspect’s eldest son, who also lives in the residence.

After determining a motive for the crime, police may charge the charges against Yasuko to murder.
