Hokkaido cops: Bodies of man and woman found in front of home

HOKKAIDO (TR) – Hokkaido Prefectural Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of the bodies of a man and woman outside a residence in Chitose City, reports the Yomiuri Shimbun (April 29).

At 10:30 a.m. on Friday, a police received a phone call about a woman collapsed and bleeding from her abdomen in front of the doorway of the residence, located in the Seiryu area.

In addition to the woman’s body, police arriving at the scene also found the body of a man. He had suffered stab wounds to the head and chest.

Both persons were confirmed dead about one hour later at a nearby hospital.

Police suspect that the bodies are those of a married couple, a man in his 50s and woman in her 40s, living nearby.

Police are treating the case as murder but murder-suicide is also considered a possibility, according to the Yomiuri Shimbun (April).
