TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have apprehended a male member of a fraud ring who one year ago fled to Okinawa Prefecture to escape capture, reports TBS News (April 25).

In January of last year, Tsuguto Ohsiro, a 22-year-old construction worker, and two other members of the ring allegedly swindled a 42-year-old man living in Saitama Prefecture out of one million yen over fees required to use an adult site.

After the incident, Oshiro fled the ring’s base of operations in Tokyo. Police apprehended him on Sunday in Ishigaki City, Okinawa.

Over the one-year period prior to the incident, police suspect that the ring collected about 100 million yen from approximately 30 victims.
