MIYAGI (TR) – Miyagi Prefectural Police have launched an investigation following the discovery last week of a corpse in a forest in Kurihara City, reports Kahoku Shimpo (April 20).

At approximately 10:40 a.m. on April 16, a worker inspecting a path in a wooded area of Kannariarikabe telephoned police regarding the discovery of skeletal remains on a slope.

The body, measuring approximately 180 centimeters in height, is of an unknown gender and did not contain any external injuries. The gender of the body was not revealed.

The results of an autopsy revealed that the person is believed to have died up to six months ago.

The body was attired in unusually large clothing, including a dark sweatshirt (XL) and pants (XXL).
