TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police have arrested the manage of host club catering to female fans of a special genre of music for licensing violations, reports TBS News (April 18).

On Saturday, officers raided Bar Velu, located in the Ikebukuro entertainment district of Tohima Ward, and arrested manager Shogo Yamaguchi, 29, for allegedly employing male staff members to sit near and entertain female customers without a valid license under the Law Regulating Adult Entertainment Businesses.

Yamaguchi admits to the allegations.

The bar promotes itself on its Web site and via Twitter as employing active band members in the rock genre known as “visual-kei,” which is typified by musicians in gaudy hairstyles and ostentatious costumes.

Since opening in February of last year, Bar Velu has collected 20 million yen in revenue.
