OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police are investigating a robbery in which a male employee of a precious metals shop was assaulted and robbed of more than 50 million yen in cash in the Minami entertainment area of Chuo Ward, reports the Mainichi Shimbun (Mar. 24).

At approximately 10:40 a.m. on Thursday, two men wearing masks attacked the employee, aged in his 30s, and stole a cloth bag, containing approximately 56 million yen in cash, as he attempted to board a vehicle in front of the shop. The suspects then fled the scene in a white van that was parked nearby.

According to officers from the Minami Police Station, the assailants are aged in their 30s. The victim suffered slight injuries.

The cash was proceeds from sales obtained from the shop.
