AICHI (TR) – Aichi Prefectural Police have arrested an employee of automotive giant Toyota for picking up a teenage prostitute in Ichinomiya City, reports the Sankei Shimbun (Jan. 26).
On October 19 of last year, Ryo Noda, 26, is alleged to have paid 10,000 yen to the girl, a 17-year-old part-time worker, for a sexual encounter inside a public toilet.
Noda, who has been charged with violating child prostitution laws, admits to the allegations, telling police he knew she was under 18 years of age.
According to officers from the Naka Police Station, Noda became acquainted with the girl through a smartphone application.
“After confirming the facts of the case, appropriate measures will be taken to deal with the matter,” a representative of Toyota is quoted by the Nagoya Broadcasting Network (Jan. 26).
