OSAKA (TR) – Osaka Prefectural Police have launched a murder case following a brawl in Ikuno Ward on Sunday night that left one person dead, reports TBS News (Sep. 7).

At around 11:00 p.m., a call came into emergency services about a collapsed man in the street who was being repeatedly beaten by a group of men with baseball bats.

According to police, the man, who is believed to be a Vietnamese national, suffered multiple injuries, including stab wounds, to his abdomen and chest. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Surveillance camera footage showed a total of six assailants fleeing the scene after the attack.

Two others, also believed to be Vietnamese nationals, were found collapsed and bleeding at a nearby apartment building, according to Nippon News Network (Sep. 7). Their injuries are considered serious.

An eyewitness told police that all of the participants were Vietnamese.

“They were collapsed in a sea of blood,” said the witness. “All of them were Vietnamese — it was a fight among Vietnamese kids.”
