YOKOHAMA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police on Friday arrested the broker of a teenage prostitute who housed the girl at a Yokohama hotel, reports the Yomiuri Shimbun (July 18).

Ryo Takenaka, 23, is accused of housing the third-year high school student, 17, at a business hotel in Naka Ward between May 29 and 31 to provide sex services to male customers.

Takenaka, who has been charged with operating a prostitution business and inflicting obscene acts upon a child, has reportedly admitted to the allegations. “Since I didn’t have a job, I needed money,” the suspect is quoted by police.

The suspect met the girl through a deai-kei matchmaking site in January. Between February and June, the girl is believed to have served 57 customers and collected approximately one million yen in revenue.
