KANAGAWA (TR) – Kanagawa Prefectural Police on Tuesday arrested a former organized crime member for providing a teenage girl to a prostitution service two years ago, reports the Yomiuri Shimbun (Feb. 11).

Officers took Shingo Oi, 42, into custody for introducing a girl who was 14 years old at the time to a “delivery health” out-call service — a violation of the Employment Security Law regarding a harmful referral.

Oi has reportedly admitted to the allegations.

The girl, a third-year middle school student, was employed by the business for roughly one month in early 2013.

The service operated under the practice of enjo kosai, or compensated dating, in which a prostitute will be dispatched to a customer at a hotel or residence.
